Parish Council News

The 'new' Council met in the village hall on Wednesday September 4th at 7.30pm. Marie Turner from Lower Brithayes was elected as Chair The election of a Vice chair was deferred to the next meeting. John Vanderwolfe was elected Clerk. Eleven members of the public attended who were allowed to speak under item 10 of the Agenda. Among the issues raised were support and liaison with Mid Devon District Council; the use of the 'Call in' process by the Ward member in planning; parking issues along the road through the Mill; pot holes, fencing and drainage repair; road closures; the sad state of the 'Trout Inn'; and the Bridge Problems. The meeting was told that the Bridge was in Tiverton West Exe Parish and that with a fixed camera in place the cost of damage repair could be reclaimed.

The Clerk was able to report that section 106 monies (from local planning applications) was available for outdoor community use in Joans Orchard and Happy Meadow. The next meeting was fixed for Wednesday October 2nd 2019.
