The Remembrance Day Service included a dedication of the plaque in memory of Leonard Vowler killed in March 1945 when his plane was shot down. Aged just 21 he was the son of John and Mary Vowler of Church Green, Bickleigh. His nephew Rodney Vowler arranged with the Church Authorities for the plaque and was joined at the service by his brother Alan Vowler and cousin Janet Cox, nephew and niece. Thom Thompson took the service which also included a poppy wreath laying at the War Memorial by Parish Councillor Amanda Somerwill.
After the Service a surprise presentation of a poclet watch to Michael the organist was made in appreciation of his commitment to the Church.
