Family link - Ontario and Bickleigh

Mr Grant Hall of Ontario, Canada, is tracing his family who in the early 1840's lived at Field Cottage, Bickleigh. We were able to tell him the house is now called Lilac Cottage and that his 3xgrandparents, John and Elizabeth Berry lived there in 1841 along with their 4 young children and elderly father and aunt. John was a carpenter and may have worked over the road where the Gold family ran the estate office for the Carew family.

In 1846 the Berry family emigrated to the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario with Grant's 2xgrandfather aged just 3 months. Grant is visiting Bickleigh at the end of May and will be seeing the family home and also Cadeleigh church where his 3xgrandparents were married.
