Farmer John's tree.

The contribution that 'Farmer' John Greenslade made to Bickleigh Gardening Club and the whole Bickleigh community was recognised on Tuesday July 9th 2024 at 2pm with the unveiling of a plaque under the wild cherry tree planted in his memory in Joan's Orchard. A fitting tribute to a man who loved the Devon countryside and did so much to promote and protect nature.

The unveiling was done by wife Jan with Wendy Baker and Judith Williams (former Gardening club officers) and other members and friends present. Even the rain kept away for a brief spell but as someone said John as most farmers would have welcomed the rain.
